TRAUMATIC
BRAIN INJURY:
RESEARCH, RESOURCES, AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Injury to one's brain is a frightening prospect. The recovery
process is often long and frustrating for the person injured, as well
as his or her family and friends. The need for information is great, the
need for support even greater. The Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Grant
at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) is one of 16 Model Systems
of Care for TBI in the United States. It is funded by the US Department
of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services
(OSERS) through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation
Research (NIDRR),
the lead Federal research-granting agency interested in the care, treatment,
rehabilitation and community integration of persons with severe disabilities
from catastrophic injuries.
The RRC provides
